Students' art transforms city childrens' unit

STUDENTS from the University of Plymouth have worked to transform an NHS centre into a space that is more welcoming and friendly for children and families.

Second-year students from the university’s Illustration course were set the challenge of coming up with a fresh new look for the Plymouth Child Development Centre, which is based in Scott Business Park, on Beacon Park Road.

The art project began earlier this year and involved a large group of students who were given the task of designing a new look of the centre. They submitted two pitch decks of designs for the visitors and staff to choose from and two students, Mia Ingleby and Martha Pengelley, were chosen to take the project to the final stage of design.
