A COUPLE living in a former train station in south-east Cornwall have decided to put its old waiting room to use - transforming it into a luxury, private-hire swimming pool.
Jacqueline and Tim Selwood moved from Surrey to Old Luckett Station, near Callington, in 2017 for a complete life change.
After noticing the closure of local swimming pools, Jacqueline wanted to make use of their spare space and, with a lot of hard work, opened The Waiting Room Pool on March 24. Its facilities include a fully renovated private heated swimming pool and a hot tub, plus changing rooms with a shower.
Since opening last month, Tim, 54, who used to work as a Body Shop manager in Kent, and Jacqueline, 57, who previously worked at Gatwick Airport, already had two-holiday homes in the area, and wanted to give back to the local community by opening a local pool for all to use and business has been non-stop for the pair ever since.
