MP FRED THOMAS IS ON A MISSION TO GET MORE PLYMOUTH KIDS INTO SPORT

Too many sports facilities are 'behind closed doors'

A WARNING that too many sports facilities in Plymouth are "behind closed doors" was given at a crucial meeting looking at how to get more kids in the city playing sport.

Local and national sporting organisations came together at Home Park last week as part of the Football for All campaign launched by Plymouth Moor View MP Fred Thomas.

The MP, working with Argyle Community Trust, wants to raise awareness of the inequalities and difficulties that exist in accessing sports and particularly football. The roundtable event aimed to uncover what the barriers to access sport in Plymouth are, how they can be overcome and what further support is needed.
