Foster’s appointment, while widely expected from Thursday onwards, was not officially announced until 8.30pm on Friday. The 47-year-old was then an early arrival at Home Park on Saturday for Argyle’s FA Cup third-round tie against Sutton United.
However, there has not been too much time to reflect on the events of that match, and the lessons learned by Foster, with the transfer window being the focus on just his second full day in the post.
