That was the season when Peter Shilton's Pilgrims finished in third position in Division Two (now known as League One) and then lost to Burnley in the play-off semifinals.
The closest anyone has got to scoring 20 league goals in a season for Argyle since then has been Freddie Ladapo in 2018/19 and Reuben Reid in 2014/15, with both strikers netting 18 times.
