A WILLOW tree on Plymouth's Armada Way has died, Plymouth City Council has said.
The tree, in the hoarded off compound next to the Copthorne Hotel, now needs to be removed as it is unstable and a health and safety risk.
As a result, the council has applied to the High Court to enable to them remove the tree.
A legal injunction currently in place following the controversial felling of the trees which was imposed earlier in the year prohibits the tree from being touch.
The tree was one which had started to be felled before work was brought to a halt.
