A YOUNG man with chronic health issues who fell twice at his supported living home near Bodmin died while undergoing palliative care at Derriford Hospital.
An inquest into Cory Lovell's death heard how the 23-year-old had got up in the middle of the night to go to the loo but banged his head in a fall.
The hearing held in Truro on Tuesday heard how the two unwitnessed falls Cory suffered that night, had exacerbated his pre-existing long term health conditions.
It was also heard that the bleed on the brain that Cory sustained was deemed inoperable by specialist neuro surgeons at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth due to his co-morbidities and chronic conditions.
The decision was then made for Cory, who was born in St Austell, to receive palliative care. The young man died with his family present on February 27 this year.
The medical cause of his death was given as bilateral acute on chronic subdural haemorrhage; fall; congenital cyanotic heart disease, cardiac cirrhosis, end-stage renal failure. It means he had serious long term heart condition and advanced kidney failure.
