INDIA bloc allies spar over flood

FLOODING in West Bengal has triggered a war of words between INDIA bloc allies Mamata Banerjee and the JMM-led government in Jharkhand.

Things came to a head on Friday when Mamata ordered sealing the state's border with Jharkhand. The JMM hit back saying the Bengal CM was "mentally unstable" and was making "weird decisions."

The West Bengal government's move to seal the Dibrugarh check-post led to the queuing up of thousands of commercial vehicles from Barakar bridge to Maithon along National Highway-19.

The JMM called the move "taken in haste". "As Mamata Banerjee has become mentally unstable due to various reasons, she has been making such allegations and taking weird decisions," said JMM general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya.
