Drive against garbage on open sites ineffective

DESPITE a drive launched by the Hubballi Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) against violaters of civic laws who dump garbage in open sites, there seems to be no impact as many owners have not fallen in line.

Drive against garbage on open sites ineffective

Several areas have such open sites where garbage is dumped and residents of the surrounding areas have been waiting for the HDMC authorities to act.

An HDMC official said that action is being taken and penalties are also being imposed on the owners.
