SUPPORTERS of Women and Child Welfare Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar staged a massive protest in Belagavi on Saturday to condemn BJP MLC C T Ravi for allegedly using derogatory words against Hebbalkar in the Legislative Council during the winter session at the Suvarna Vidhana Soudha.
Thousands of people gathered at CPED Ground in Belagavi, and took out the huge protest rally with an effigy of BJP MLC C T Ravi and raised slogans against him with demand to suspend him from MLC post.
They also showed a live demonstration on how the police had taken C T Ravi into custody from Suvarna Vidhana Soudha on December 19, the last day of the winter session in Belagavi. They then put Ravi's effigy at Rani Channamma Circle, beat it up with footwear and then burnt it. They also called C T Ravi as 'OT Ravi, OC Ravi' during the protest and demanded him to make open apologies for using derogatory words against Laxmi Hebbalkar.
