FOR the past two weeks, residents of Mundakkal and Thekkevila have been grappling with sewage-contaminated water flowing from their taps. The water, reeking of toilet waste, has become unusable for cooking and other household activities.
The issue is suspected to have arisen from a burst pipeline near a drain, allowing sewage to seep into the water supply. Initial hopes for a quick resolution were dashed as the stench worsened over time.
