The city generates an average of 800 to 900 MT of waste daily. While wet wastes are shifted to compost yards, solid wastes are collected and brought to Vellakkal for biomining.
Hundreds of massive and compact bins are placed across the 100 wards of the city for collection of waste.
There are a total of 15 garbage collection vehicles in operation.
