'Accept defeat': Fadnavis counters Pawar's remark on election results

MAHARASHTRA Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday sharply responded to NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar's comments on BJP-led Maha Yuti's victory in assembly elections, saying the opposition must "accept defeat" and introspect.

Pawar said his party got more votes than NCP (Ajit Pawar) but won only 10 seats while the party led by his nephew bagged 41.

In reply Fadnavis said, "It is wrong to compare the seats won on the basis of votes polled." He countered Sharad Pawar citing recent Lok Sabha election data.
