Adani's Krishnapatnam Port gets nod to import petroleum products till 2026

The government on Monday permitted Krishnapatnam Port in Andhra Pradesh, operated by Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (AP-SEZ), to import petroleum products by sea.

As per a notification from the Ministry of Ports, Shipping, and Waterways, the port is authorised to import crude oil from August 25, 2024, to March 1, 2026. The ministry stated that this decision aims to meet the growing demand for petroleum products in the country, as the import of these products is considered essential for the public interest.
