An exciting cocktail of art and acrobatics marked the mime competition at the 63rd State School Youth Festival.

They were engaging performances based on a variety of themes - from the children lost in the Amazon forests to Manipur violence and the Vadakkancherry tourist bus accident.

The themes revealed the incidents in the last few years that had an impact on young minds. The plight of lost children was performed by the students of the BEM Girls Higher Secondary School, Kozhikode. Mimers from GHSS Kamballur staged the Manipur violence. The team from the St Joseph's Higher Secondary School, Thalassery, performed the Kolkata gang rape incident and the subsequent encounter killing.
