While 49 murder cases were registered in 2023, the number dropped to 21 in 2024. Police arrested 20 accused individuals, and courts convicted 14 persons in six cases.
"A drastic decline in murders has been achieved through measures such as monitoring the movement of rowdies and gangsters and implementing strict surveillance," said a senior police official.
The statement detailed efforts to address thefts, robberies, and burglaries in the district. Police arrested offenders in 250 criminal cases and recovered stolen items worth ₹1,18,08,544 in 2024.
