FARMERS in Vizianagaram and Srikakulam districts are reeling under the impact of incessant rains caused by multiple low-pressure systems in the Bay of Bengal over the past month. Especially, the paddy as well as the lentil farmers have been incurring huge losses due to the untimely rains lashed in the past one month.
At least 300 hectares of paddy, ready for harvest, remain submerged, while pulses sown as a second crop are also rotting due to water stagnation.
