THe fixation for a government job among the youth remains high in a recruitment exam conducted by the Chhattisgarh Vyavsayik Pariksha mandal (Professional examination Board) for 300 posts of students’ hostels superintendent, over 3.53 lakh aspirants appeared on Sunday.

6L applications for 300 hostel superintendent posts

As many as 6.30 lakh youths had initially put in their applications.

Such a huge number of applicants were vying for the post for which the minimum education qualification was 12th pass. The exam was conducted in one sitting across the state with the board making elaborate arrangements and creating over 2,000 exam centres.

It is for the first time the board has conducted recruitment tests for any post at such a scale held in one sitting, said a senior official familiar with the examination process for government appointment.
