The rhetoric, paired with an image of hypermasculinity, resonated with angry voters particularly menin a deeply polarised nation.

Trump's win after a gap of four years is also spectacular in the sense that only one other American president has secured two non-consecutive terms. Grover Cleveland, the 22nd and 24th president, served as the US president between 1885-1889 and 1893-1897.
