FORMER Gujarat Congress chief and Porbandar MLA Arjun Modhwadia on Monday announced his resignation from the party ahead of the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections.

He cited the absence of party leaders at the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya was the reason for his decision.

In his resignation letter to party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Modhwadia expressed his disappointment over Congress leaders not attending the opening of the temple.
