723 Pinoy students excel in int'l math competition

Up to 723 Filipino students emerged as top scorers in the 2024 Australian Mathematics Competition (AMC) against 53,000 math aces from 20 countries, the Mathematics Trainers' Guild (MTG) of the Philippines announced yesterday.

The MTG said two students from the Philippines were named second best in their respective Southeast Asia divisions.

Adrian Jeric Ang, a Grade 3 student of Xavier School in San Juan, scored 112 out of 120 in the middle primary division.

Jerome Austin Te, a Grade 11 student of Jubilee Christian Academy in Quezon City, scored 105 out of 120 in the middle secondary division.

Te was acknowledged by the AMC when he got a perfect score in the 2022 edition of the contest.
