Leader of Opposition Naveen Patnaik raised serious concerns over the plight of farmers in the state, urging Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi to provide immediate and adequate compensation for those devastated by unseasonal rains in December. In his first letter to the BJP-led state government since it came to power, Patnaik highlighted the gravity of the situation, pointing to farmer suicides in several districts as a grim indicator of the crisis.
