A couple of days after an emotional parting with long-time coach Klaus Bartonietz, who guided Neeraj Chopra to two consecutive Olympic medals, the Indian star has teamed up with a team led by his childhood hero and three-time Olympic champion Jan Zelezny—the world record holder with an astonishing 98.48m.

Neeraj, who has been hunting for a coach ever since the 75-year-old Klaus Bartonietz expressed his desire to retire and spend time with his family in Germany, has eventually zeroed in on the legendary thrower, who holds five of the nine best javelin throws of all time, including the world record.

The Czech legend broke the javelin throw world record on four occasions en route to claiming the current undisputed mark of 98.48m, in Germany, in 1996.
