Pointing out that she was the first girl from her village to go to a town to study, President Droupadi Murmu today asked teachers and students to encourage first-generation university students who often become victims of inferiority complex.
Addressing the 99th annual convocation of the University of Delhi, she told the students that there might be many such students amongst their classmates from whose family or village no one would have been able to get university-level education before them. "Such students are very talented and hardworking.
They come to the University with great enthusiasm to fulfil their dreams. Sometimes they become victims of inferiority complex. This should not happen in any sensitive society," she added.
