There is nothing to suggest, as of now, that Formula One (F1) contracts or other contracts were structured to the disadvantage of the Government, the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MTI) said in a statement on Jan 18.
“The terms of all the agreements were considered carefully by the Government,” MTI added. “There was an independent consultancy study.”
In a written reply in August 2023 to a parliamentary question, Trade and Industry Minister Gan Kim Yong said the Singapore Tourism Board had commissioned the independent consultancy study towards the end of the third contract term in 2021 to evaluate the costs and benefits of a fourth term extension.
