Once in a while, something magical happens in the National Basketball Association (NBA).
On Jan 7, Trae Young's sensational buzzer-beating three-pointer lifted the Atlanta Hawks to a 124-121 road victory over the Utah Jazz, as the Boston Celtics beat the Denver Nuggets in a battle of the last two NBA champions.
At the end of a tight game, the crowd in Salt Lake City roared as Collin Sexton drilled a three-pointer to pull the Jazz level at 121-121 with four seconds remaining.
The two teams appeared to be heading to overtime when Young unleashed his stunning shot from the half-court line - the third buzzer-beater of his career according to the Hawks - to seal a stunning win.
"I'm a competitor, and we got a lot of guys on this team that are competitors," he said after the win. "I had a hell of a game, big shot right there... I mean, trying to get a shot myself and God did what he did (for me)."
Young finished the game with 24 points and 20 assists, helping the Hawks improve to 19-18 in the East despite Lauri Markkanen's 35 points for the Jazz (9-26).
