Team Espirito are no one-season wonders

A major irritant to the big boys. And this time, potentially, not just as a flash in the pan. Yes, Nottingham Forest, I'm talking about you.
NEIL MOXLEY
Team Espirito are no one-season wonders

What's taking place at the City Ground bears similarities to past events at the King Power Stadium that brought Leicester a shock title.

With one big difference. Forest have the firepower, on and off the pitch, to be more than a one-season wonder.

The rise of Nuno Espirito Santo's Forest side has been as glorious as it has been unexpected.

Now, I am not making a case for them toppling Liverpool or their nearest title challengers, Arsenal.

But what is clear is that the Portuguese coach has landed at a club in a very significant moment of its history and that his methods of working have really struck a chord.

For any club looking to launch themselves into the company of the 'Big Six' laughably a group that includes Tottenham because of their revenue generation, not their prize-winning abilities several factors have to be working in their favour.

First, the club has to be backed with serious cash and owner Evangelos Marinakis, a Greek shipping magnate, has put his wallet squarely on the block to bankroll the club's rise.
