New Delhi/Mumbai: A 28-year-old food blogger from Mumbai allegedly strangled his 26year-old live-in partner at their house in south Delhi, cut the body into 35 pieces, stored them in a refrigerator and disposed them of over 18 days at various places in the dead of night. The crime didn't come to light for six months and would have remained hidden for longer but for a friend of the woman in Mumbai who raised an alarm about her whereabouts which alerted her fatherwhom the woman had alienated over her relationship and finally put the cops on the trail of the killer.
The blogger, Aaftab Ameen Poonawala, was finally arrested on November 11 by Delhi Police for allegedly killing Shraddha Walkar at their flat in Chhatarpur area on May 18 this year. Aaftab had once trained as a chef and was adept at cutting meat. Once he had strangled Shraddha in a fit of rage, he used a meat cleaver on the body, unfolding an elaborate plan to evade suspicion and cover his tracks. Out every night at 2am, he even fed the body parts to stray animals hoping to destroy evidence.
