Having won the Australian Open and French Open, it keeps alive his dream of a calendar Grand Slam.
The second seed lost the first set and took a medical time-out in the second, but summoned the great champion and fighting spirit within him to win 3-6, 7-5, 3-6, 7-5, 7-6 (4) in four hours and 21 minutes.
Nadal will play Nick Kyrgios for a place in Sunday’s final with serious history and bad blood between the two.
In the women’s draw, Simona Halep, the World No.18, appears to have picked up from where she left threeyears ago when she hoisted the Venus Rosewater dish. On Wednesday, the Romanian crushed the challenge of the 20-year-old Amanda Anisimova 6-2, 6-4 in her 63-minutes on Centre Court to extend her Wimbledon winning streak to 12 matches.
