Jaipur: BJP-backed independent candidate Subhash Chandra on Tuesday claimed to have garnered the support of four more MLAs whose names he wouldn't reveal, taking his projected tally in the June 10 Rajya Sabha battle to 39 votes, just two short of the minimum he requires to go through from Rajasthan.
"I am thankful to Rashtriya Loktantrik Party (RLP) chief Hanuman Beniwal for his open support to my nomination. Four other MLAS have committed their support, but requested that they be not named for the time being," the outgoing Haryana MP and satellite television pioneer said.
RLP has three MLAs in the 200-member Rajasthan assembly while BJP has 71, of whom 30 can potentially vote for Chandra.
