Petrol, diesel prices may drop by up to ̀₹2
New Delhi: Fuel price relief may be around the corner as softening international crude as well as product rates turn retailers’ margins positive on petrol by Rs 6 per litre and are expected to soon pare an under-recovery of Rs 10 on diesel.
The reduction will be the first since May 22 when the Centre had cut excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 8 and Rs 6, respectively, to cushion consumers as oil prices spiked to record levels in the wake of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
