Mumbai: Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis has said the new state government will try to complete the Metro-3 project as early as possible.
"Our government will take all the appropriate decisions which are required to complete Metro 3 in the shortest possible time," Fadnavis told TOI when asked about JICA funds drying up.
One of the first priorities of the new government, said officials, will be to quickly approve the revised cost of the project in the state cabinet. The protocol is that the state must first approve the cost escalation proposal and convey its decision to the Union ministry of housing and urban affairs. Once the Centre clears it, JICA disburses the loan.
