Navlakha house arrest premises 'not safe': NIA

Mumbai: The NIA informed the special court on Wednesday that it had evaluated the premises where activist Gautam Navlakha was to move in lieu of his house arrest and found it to be “not safe from the view of his safety and security”. It was also submitted that the building is in the name of the “secretary of Communist Party” and he has been the building manager since the past 25 to 30 years.

Meanwhile, actor Suhasini Muley told the court that she has known Navlakha for 30 years and will stand in as his surety. When asked if she had done so before, Muley said it was her first time in court. The special judge accepted her as surety.
