Mumbai: The festival of Sharadiya Navratri has got off to a good start for garba organisers as well as public pandals that install idols of the goddess for nine days.
"The rain has kept off so far and dancers are arriving dressed in full finery," said Ganesh Naidu of the Kora Kendra garba. Singer Parthiv Gohil at NESCO Goregaon, and organiser Pankaj Kotecha of the Nilesh Thakkar indoor event in Borivli were both pleased to welcome sizeable crowds.
Organiser Hasmukh Gehlot of Musa Paik's Lotus garba in Bhayander said people were arriving from as far as Goregaon and Borivli, apart from Mira Road. "We have laid a large wooden platform for the ease of dancers," he said.
