Jaslok Hospital started coronary angiography in 1973. This was one of the first private enterprises that provided state-of-the-art treatment in Cardiology. Till then, it was mostly the medical colleges and governmental institutes who could buy expensive pieces of equipment since it was thought that providing modern cardiac care is economically not viable. Dada Lokumal and his wife Jasotibai’s munificent donation helped the hospital.
