Sarma demanded a strict law against "love jihad", while pointing out the horrific murder of 26-year-old Shraddha Walkar, who was allegedly killed by her live-in partner Aaftab Poonawalla, and appealed to people to support Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make the country stronger.

"There is a need to strengthen the existing system so that no one is victimised, no riot happens and no person is oppressed. We don't need people like Aaftab; we need people like Lord Shri Ram and leaders like Narendra Modi.
