BJP looks to go hyperlocal with national functionaries

New Delhi: Senior BJP functionaries, including Union home minister Amit Shah, party president Jagat Prakash Nadda, defence minister Rajnath Singh, transport and highways minister Nitin Gadkari, Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Dhami, are likely to campaign in the high-stakes MCD polls.

A request for 60 top functionaries was sent to the central leadership to address corner meetings and participate in roadshows and door-to-door campaigns in the 250 wards. While the candidates have already started outreach programmes, the party is likely to launch a high-octane campaign from November 20, a day after the last date of the withdrawal of candidature.
