New Delhi: The government’s mega telecom order running up to Rs 17,000 crore for TCS-Tejas and C-DOT consortium seems to have run into rough weather, with state-owned BSNL looking to approach Reliance Jio, among various options, due to issues related to higher bid prices presented by the Tata Group, sources said. BSNL wants to upgrade its network to 4G and subsequently to 5G through installation of around one lakh mobile towers
Sources added that BSNL, which has been instructed to upgrade its network swiftly in line with the broader industry trend, has been unable to finalise the network infrastructure supplier, despite initially zeroing in on TCS-Tejas and C-DOT combine.
