New Delhi: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) has applied for the Institute of Eminence tag in a bid to enhance infrastructure, its vice-chancellor Santishree D Pandit said on Thursday. The administration plans to initiate think tanks, a publishing unit and a bookstore with the funding, she added.
“We applied for the tag in the first week of November. It is a huge document and we wanted to get everyone on board, so we included all the schools. We can even have a club for faculty and students where people can relax. Libraries are also something I want to work on. I want to leave the university with better infrastructure. The staff and students have been very cooperative and helpful, which has also helped improve the rankings,” Pandit said.
