The Delhi government's trial run on 26 new bus routes proposed under the route rationalization study kicked off on October 2. With day one being a Sunday, the ridership on buses was on the lower side. Sources, however, said that the move was deliberate to let new routes stabilize even as some of the routes are now on the radar.
Even though a total of 151 buses have been deployed on the 26 routes, not all were scheduled for Sunday as demand was expected to be low. The new routes include three on Central Business District (CBD) circulators, two on super trunks, 18 on primary, and three on Airport Service routes.
