Using children to crowdfund treatment JJ offence: Police

A Delhi-based private company last week approached the Bombay high court to challenge a show-cause notice it received from Mumbai Police which likened its crowdfunding efforts under a national policy to help in treatment of rare diseases among children, to "begging" under the Juvenile Justice Act.

The notice by the special inspector general of police (Prevention of Crime against Women and Children) had sought an explanation why no offence be registered against the company which, by its advertisement for fund collection, had displayed children on social media in a "wrong perspective".
