Making her final preparations for the Spring Classics, Eluned King sprinted to victory following a gruelling women's CiCLE Classic on Sunday.
The 21-year-old from South Wales finished on the podium in two previous editions but finally got the win she desired in Melton Mowbray.
The Lifeplus-Wahoo rider survived notorious sectors which were submerged in thick mud and puddles.
Riding from the front over the final Somerberg sector, King was in commanding form as a group of 10 riders came into the finish together after almost three hours of tough racing.
King had the quickest sprint, beating Eilidh Shaw (Alba Development Road Team) into second and Alice McWilliam (Hess Cycling Team) in third.
"I raced here as a first-year junior and since then I've wanted to win it," said a delighted King afterwards.
"On every sector I was in the first six riders then I pressed on a bit over the Somerberg during the last time.
"We came off the sector with a small group, which I was happy about as I don't like sprinting out of a big group. When there were only 10 riders left, I did feel a bit of pressure to deliver for myself.
