Are the comparisons between Scottie Scheffler and Tiger Woods justified?
Golf Monthly|June 2024
With four wins and a runner-up spot in five consecutive starts plus a huge lead in the world rankings, some are starting to talk about the 2024 Masters Champion in almost the same breath as Woods
Are the comparisons between Scottie Scheffler and Tiger Woods justified?

• Why are people starting to make comparisons between Scheffler and Woods?

First and foremost, golf fans like records and statistics and need something to be talking about. Scheffler’s Masters victory was part of an incredible run of results as the 27-year-old threatens to emerge as today’s most dominant player. Further weight to the comparison has come via statistical analysis from Data Golf, which has concluded that Scheffler’s phenomenal current run is better than Vijay Singh’s in 2004 and only behind the all-conquering Tiger Woods’ amazing run in 2000.

• Surely it’s a bit early for such talk, though?
