Priyansh defeated Alijaz Brenk of Slovenia 147-141 to complete his set milestone and also won the mixed team gold medal partnering Avneet defeating the team from Israel in the World Archery Youth Championship. In a candid interview with Sports Champ, he spoke about various topics. Excerpts:

How did your journey start with archery?

I started playing sports archery in 2019 and focus solely on compound archery, but then the lockdown came, so I used to practice 10 metres at home. Later on, our coaches made arrangements for 50 metres and 70 metres.

In the 2021 junior nationals held in Dehradun, I won individual silver. The top 18 were selected to play in the Asia Cup, but the team could not qualify. After that, the world youth championship trial happened in Poland. In 2021 from there onwards I started my international journey and from there onwards everything is working in the right direction.

Tell us more about your success in the last two years.

In these two years, I have played many Asia Cups, I was the champion in one of the Asia Cups then there are a couple of individual medals silver and bronze. And I have also won medals in multiple team and mixed-team events.

Before coming into archery I used to play table tennis and go swimming but could not generate interest in the same.
