ALASSANA Jatta's Africa Cup of Nations dream may be over - but the in-form Notts County striker is now setting his sights on World Cup qualification.
County's ten-goal top scorer joined up with the Gambia national team for the first time this week but their bid to make next year's AFCON finals in Morocco ended on Friday night following a qualifying group loss to Comoros.
Defeat meant the Scorpions missed out on participating in a third consecutive finals after their debut tournament in 2021, with Jatta - who made his debut - and the West African country now preparing for a dead rubber in Tunisia on Monday.
But, having played a leading role in helping establish his club among League Two's promotion pacesetters this season, Jatta is still setting his sights on making his mark on the international stage.
