His long-term assistant Terry Connor, with whom he was appointed in January, also left the club, with the Tangerines now focusing on a tough trip to Luton tomorrow, with senior professional development lead phase coach Stephen Dobbie taking charge of the first-team (and for the rest of the season), assisted by Matt Blinkhorn and Steve Banks.
A statement on the club’s website said: “Blackpool Football Club can confirm Mick McCarthy and Terry Connor have both left the club by mutual consent.
