WIGAN Athletic skipper Jason Kerr admits that it feels like he has played alongside Will Aimson for years - as the pair continue to establish themselves as one of the EFL's most miserly defensive partnerships.
Aimson only joined the Latics in the summer from Exeter but, from mid-September to early October, he lined up alongside Kerr during a run of six successive clean sheets.
A record of 13 goals conceded, meanwhile, represents the second-best tally across League One and Two behind Wrexham this season.
Dovetailed
Perhaps most impressively, the speed in which the duo have dovetailed together has meant that the £4m August departure of fellow defender Charlie Hughes to Hull has not been as keenly felt as might have been anticipated.
"Charlie is such a technically talented player but Will's a very experienced defender who has played in League One and is just a good centre-half," Kerr declared to The FLP. "It feels like we have played together for years not three months.
