WREXHAM boss Phil Parkinson admitted his team owed it to the "integrity of the league" not to take their foot off the gas after securing promotion.

PARKY WON'T EASE UP JUST YET

The Welsh club's Hollywood success story continues to delight Dragon's fans with A-list owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney overseeing a double promotion from non-league to League One in successive seasons.

However, despite having already won their place in the League Two top three, Parkinson was keen for his team to go and do a job at Gresty Road.

With Crewe still fighting for a place in the end-of-season play-offs, there was never any suggestion that Wrexham would gift their hosts the points.

Parkinson said: "The last nine away games have seen us take 17 points, so we have been excellent on our travels which I am pleased about.

"For the integrity of the division it was important we performed here as there will be other teams in the league looking at this game today needing us to come and play well.

"Our mentality has got stronger and we have been very good.

"After their lad got sent off I was expecting a yellow card we then went 3-0 up and it was just about controlling the game after that."
