POMPEY END IMPS' PLAY-OFF HOPES AFTER DANNY'S MISS

Brentford loanee Peart-Harris silenced the Sincil Bank crowd by firing Pompey ahead after 81 minutes, before Paddy Lane’s goal at the death put paid to the Imps’ lingering hopes, although it could have been a different outcome had Danny Mandroiu not seen his 53rd-minute penalty saved by Will Norris.

The result denied Lincoln a chance to join Pompey in the second tier next season, as Barnsley and Oxford snatched the last two play-off places.

And now the first thing Mousinho wants to do at champions Portsmouth is bring back both wants to bring Peart-Harris and Abu Kamara for their Championship campaign.

“Myles has had a very successful loan spell as far as we’re concerned,” Mousinho said.

“He’s started ten games, he’s scored two goals, he’s got a league winners’ medal around his neck and I thought he was superb today.

“My big thing with Myles is to make sure whatever happens next, he doesn’t end up in League One because he’s much better than that.
