NEW QPR boss Marti Cifuentes has challenged Chris Willock and Ilias Chair to provide the goals that fire QPR to survival.
Moroccan international Chair was the Hoops’ top scorer last season but has chipped in with just two assists this term.
Willock, meanwhile, was frozen out by former boss Gareth Ainsworth, who was sacked last weekend with QPR lying second from bottom of the Championship.
Ainsworth’s cautious tactics and direct style of play came under fire from disgruntled supporters, who felt the 50-year-old failed to maximise the creative potential of players like Willock and Chair.
But Spaniard Cifuentes has “big belief” in the duo and believes they are perfectly suited to the high-pressing, possession-based style he deployed to considerable success at Swedish side Hammarby.
“It’s not a secret that I like Willock, that I like Chair,” said the 41-year-old, who has signed a three-year deal at Loftus Road.
